Lincoln man shot and killed in downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in downtown Lincoln on Sunday.

According to LPD, officers, along with members of Lincoln Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to the Royal Hookah Bar and Lounge at 16th & O Streets at 3 a.m. on the report of an person outside who had been shot several times.

Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old Lincoln man who had been shot. The man was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

According to LPD, police are currently interviewing numerous witnesses and have the person responsible detained.

LPD said they are not seeking any other persons of interest at this time, and they are not releasing the victim’s name at this time to allow for notification of family.
