North Platte man charged with sexually assaulting minor girl

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A North Platte man faces charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl.

Alexander Reed, 29, is charged in Lincoln County Court with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child.

According to an arrest affidavit, on Monday, a woman reported to North Platte Police that her daughter – who is under 12-years-old – was sexually assaulted by Reed on three different occasions.

In a forensic interview, the girl said Reed sexually assaulted her once in Omaha and twice in North Platte. She added during these incidents, he would “cover their heads with a blanket and watch inappropriate videos.”

In an interview with North Platte Police, the affidavit said Reed admitted to the sexual assaults and also provided a written statement about them. He was then arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

Reed is set to be arraigned in Lincoln County Court at 11 a.m. Friday.
