The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) is set to receive a new Mobile Outreach Vehicle to serve the Western side of the state.

NSP announced on March 22 that they will be receiving the new vehicle on Monday, March 25. They say the new equipment will be based in North Platte and will serve as a Mobile Command Post for critical incidents that may occur on the Western side of Nebraska.

NSP says the vehicle is being provided to them by the Office of Radiological Security - a federal agency within the Department of Energy.

In a press release announcing the handover of the vehicle, NSP invited local media to come witness the event, see the mobile outreach vehicle and learn about what the vehicle can do and will mean for western Nebraska.

NTV News will provide updates as they unfold.
