A classic movie house experiences a revival as the the Rivoli 3 theater brings new amenities and features to the downtown area to bring another great destination for Hastings residents.

The historic theater is near completion and hopes to bring you more comforts and a new experience.

“It’s come together pretty well and it’s look better than I ever could've dreamed it would. Still a work in progress, just have to put a few chairs we have to a put in yet and we’re still working on our balcony. This is actually our second theatre. Theatre number 1 is our largest theatre with seats about 160 some,” said Bryce Blecha, the manger of Rivoli 3.

The main improvements they have made are the new seats.

"Our new luxury seating. They recline, they heat, they cool, they have the trays on them they got multiple cup holders so they’re kind of top of the line that you’ll get at any theater. We used to have the pretty generic, bottom fold down and the cushion on it so these are much more comfortable,” said Blecha.

The director of the Downtown Center Association says it brings good things to the business district.

“Ideally those experiences that pull at the heart strings are always a goal for folks in downtown and that’s what we want to have down here is for people to come down and enjoy. What better to do that then to escape the cold and come see a movie, it’s a really great opportunity for downtown Hastings and the Rivoli as well.” said Megan Arrington-Williams, the Director of Downtown Center Association.

The theater is also working on getting its liquor license.

"Because there’s only one other or two other theaters in the Fridley company that served alcohol and they kind of just asked me if I would somehow be interested in. I thought it would be worth a try and we got a First Street Brewery who we are partnering with to serve the beer for us and they’re right across the street so why not and I can help with the downtown community as well,” said Blecha.

The theater hopes to see more business because of these new renovations.

"We love giving people good experiences, we want people to come out and enjoy a movie and enjoy our chairs and just have. A night out at the theater." said Blecha
