HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Good afternoon, it was another chilly day today as temperatures stayed in the mid to low 20’s and upper teens across the region. Temperatures take another tumble tonight though, expecting another frigid start to the day tomorrow with temperatures tonight dropping near or below zero for most and wind chills anywhere from 5 to 15 degrees below zero. Areas of patchy fog are also possible tomorrow morning, but we shouldn’t see anything dense enough to warrant a dense fog advisory. Temperatures tomorrow do warm up a bit, into the mid to upper 20’s for the eastern half of the viewing area, including the Tri-Cities, and low 30’s for areas top the west. Breezy conditions return tomorrow evening and continue into the day Thursday.

Our next chance of seeing precipitation comes Thursday, in the form of light snow showers. Temperatures during the day warm into the low to mid 30’s as a weak low pressure system to the north brings a warm front through early in the day. A cold front will come crashing through behind it sometime late afternoon and early evening bringing with it some scattered light snow. Not expecting a whole lot of accumulations from this, maybe a dusting to up to an inch in some spots. Temperatures cool a bit into the day Friday, staying in the upper 20’s to low 30’s across the area. Another warm up is expected into the weekend as another, quick moving clipper system moves through the area.

Winds are expected to pick up with this system passing through as temperatures warm into the mid to upper 30’s across the region, light snow is possible overnight Saturday into Sunday, but we are still too far out to determine if there will be any impactful snowfall from this. Temperatures remain in the low to mid 30’s for Sunday and continue into early parts of next week. The chances of seeing any impactful system move through the area in the next week remain low, but we are keeping our eye on the clipper this weekend to see if that evolves into a bigger storm, although at this time seems unlikely.
