Hastings Landfill hosts tire recycling event

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Landfill started their tire recycling event on Wednesday to a line of dozens of cars and trucks ready to recycle old tires.

The recycling event can take up to 350 tons of used tires. They accept tires up to the size of agricultural tires. Anyone who is dropping off tires must be able to unload the tires. You must be a resident of Adams county in order to recycle tires at the landfill for free under this event.

Typically, recycling tires is not free, however because of a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy.
