Kearney YMCA encourages active summer lifestyles via successful healthy kids day

KEARNEY,NEB. — What a day to be a kid. The Kearney family YMCA hosting healthy kids day inspiring children to keep their minds and bodies active throughout the up and coming summer months and beyond.

Grace the horse was having fun today, but petting horses wasn't the only activities. There was a kid yoga class, teen kickboxing, hula hooping, hopscotch and more. Organizations like the Kearney Animal Shelter also showed off their puppies and the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff's putt kids to the tests with obstacle courses along with multiple community vendors promoting their businesses.

The activities were all free including the joining fee which was waived for today's event if you wished to become a member of the YMCA.
